About the teacher…..

I am a Lander University graduate with a B.S. degree in business education. My certifications include business education and early childhood education.  I have taught approximately 17 years.  I reside in Greenwood, South Carolina and am married with 4 children and 1 daughter-in-law.  I currently teach Business Computer Applications and Desktop Publishing.

Business Computer Applications

This course is a semester-long course designed to take students their maximum level of proficiency in business computer applications at an individualized pace.  Students will master the technical aspect of using the computer by performing the following tasks:

        Explore safety issues, student organizations (as they relate to a career)

        Word processing applications software

        Presentation applications

        Spreadsheet applications

        Database applications

        Project/simulation learning activities

        Explore careers and colleges

        Access and utilize the internet

 

 

Desktop Publishing

This course is an expansion of office computing incorporating the use of desktop publishing software or word processing software with desktop capabilities, a computer system, and a printer to produce professional-looking documents.  The student will learn how to edit clip art and photographs for inclusion in printed documents. A portfolio will be assembled.  Course duration is one semester.
