Mr. Darin Rice

Project Lead The Way Instructor

Mr. Rice is a 1987 graduate of Battery Creek High School in Beaufort, SC and a 1992 graduate of the College of Charleston with a BS degree in Biology.  Before beginning his teaching career, he worked as an environmental analyst here in Greenwood for seven years.  He also holds a BS degree in Exercise Science from Lander University and is currently working on a Master’s of Education in Administration.

Mr. Rice began his teaching experience on the middle school level as a teacher and coach at Brewer Middle in 1999.  He coached football and basketball and is currently the boy’s soccer coach for Brewer. Mr. Rice came to GFRCC in 2005 to begin the Project Lead the Way program.  He is currently teaching Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Digital Electronics. 

Mr. Rice is the G. Frank Russell Career Center 2007-2008 Teacher of the Year. He was also selected as District 50 Teacher of the Year for the 2007-2008 school year.

Mr. Rice is married and has four children.
