Mrs. Parnell is
a native of Union, South Carolina. She graduated from Union
High School and the University of South Carolina where she earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education and a Master’s degree in
Education from Southern Wesleyan University.
Mrs. Parnell also has an Associate Degree in Commercial Science from
the University of South Carolina-Union Campus.
Mrs. Parnell has
taught in District 50 for 8 years. She has held positions at Greenwood High School,
Emerald High
School, and G. Frank Russell Career and Technology Center
teaching Business Courses to students in grades 9-12.
Mrs. Parnell
also holds the position of Web Master for Greenwood High School
and the Greenwood Athletic Department.
Before coming to District 50, Mrs. Parnell taught Computer Technology
Classes at Cambridge Academy in their high school program for 2 years and
at Piedmont Technical College
where she taught Computer Applications for 3 years.
Mrs. Parnell is
married and resides in Abbeville,
SC with her husband, Buck.
They have 2
children; Tripp, a recent graduate of the University
of South Carolina and Shannon, a
Senior at Newberry
College.
Mrs. Parnell
enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, and playing
with her pets. Her pets consist of 2
Labs, Dixie and Dolly; a Boston Terrier, Budda (she is 16 years old) and 6 cats,
White Kitty, Big Kitty, Jane, Judy, Astro, and Bobtail,( she is 17 years
old).
