 Competitive Event Winners

 

The Health Science Technology Program traveled to North Charleston SC for the State HOSA Leadership Conference on March 14, 2007.  Twenty-five of the forty-one HOSA members qualified to compete in the competitive events on March 15th and 16th.  All students had the opportunity to attend health-care or health-related symposiums during the conference.

 

Five HST students represented the HOSA Greenwood Chapter as Voting Delegates (Shanudrell Harris, Zach Kelly, Gress Nelson, Tiffany Williams, and Shanna Willis.  Courtesy Corps members from our chapter were Miranda Bennett and Shanna Willis.

 

Candase Crawford was named the Outstanding HOSA member from the Career Center’s Greenwood Chapter.

Placed in Top 30 (out of 300+) in Health Care Issues Exam

 

 

Those students placing in the top three at the state level and those placing in the top 30 for the National Health Care Issues Exam all qualify to compete at the National HOSA competition in Orlando, Florida in June, 2007.

 

Steven Holmes, a 2005 HST graduate and sophomore at Francis Marion University placed first in Medical Math competition in the HOSA post-secondary (college) division.

 

Mrs. Holland and Mrs. Milner are the Health Science Technology instructors.  Mrs. Hood, a Health Science instructor and Carrie Studebaker, a 2000 HST graduate also attended the conference!
