STUDENT BENEFITS:

- Explore career interests in particular
areas;

- Increase career options;
- Earn the same number of units that
he/she normally would have earned while in school.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sign a training plan along with
parent(s) or guardian(s) and employer;
- Maintain an acceptable academic record
- Maintain an acceptable work-site
performance;
- Be evaluated regularly to determine
progress;
- Fulfill academic requirements for high
school graduation; and
- Master both the school-based and
work-based competencies in the Cooperative Education Program.
EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a variety of work experiences
for the student that will contribute to the attainment of his/her career
objectives;
- Adhere to all federal and state
regulations regarding employment, child labor, minimum wage, safety, and
other applicable laws and regulations;
- Sign the training agreement;
- Assist the coordinator in evaluating
the student’s on-the –job performance;
- Maintain records of work time;
- Submit evaluation forms as required;
- Provide safety instruction;
- Make available instructional materials
and occupational guidance to the student-worker;
- Supervise the student while he/she is
on the job; and
- Consult with the coordinator and the
instructor before dismissing the student-worker.
